Yes they are both the same however do sound different. I’ll try to explain further:
To get the same sound of middle C on the piano and on the guitar you need to play it an octave higher on the guitar or an octave lower for piano.
For example the guitar middle C is located on the 3rd fret of the fifth string and if you play this with the piano middle C you’ll notice the two notes don’t sound the same. To get the same sound play the piano middle C on the first fret of the second string (an octave higher)
